Members of Extinction Rebellion (XR) who glued themselves into the gates outside Houses of Parliament, Westminster Palace by Abingdon Street in London on Wednesday, Sept 9, 2020 - have been arrested ahead of Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs). Extinction Rebellion has organised a week of action to highlight the climate crisis. They say they are holding the government to account for failing to tackle the issue since declaring 2019 a climate emergency. Boris Johnson dismissed the protests at PMQs, branding the group ‘a bunch of crusty left-wing anarchists’.
