ìKosovo Self-Determination movement activists asks EULEX to goî

Activists belonging to a group that is highly critical of the international presence in Kosovo on Monday demanded the European Unionís Rule of Law mission, EULEX, leave the country.
Known as ìVetevendosjeî, members of the group accused EULEXís head of acting against the interests of the countryís people.
ìThe head of EULEX, Yves de Kermabon has executive powers which he can use in a negative way against the state institutions and Kosovoís people,î said Albin Kurti, head of ìVetevendosjeî.
According to him, the head of EULEX is not accountable to anybody in Kosovo.

ìIn 2005, he invited General Dragan Paskashi in Kosovo, whose army is responsible for the killing and deporting of Kosovo Albanians,î said Luan Aliu, the head of Gjilan branch.
The activists, who were demonstrating under the slogan ìNo EULEX in Kosovoî, pointed out that they are not against the presence of the international community in Kosovo as long as internationals take on the role of counselors and supporters to the Kosovo authorities.
They maintain that the EUís Rule of Law mission in Kosovo goes a step too far as it will monitor and supervise the judicial system. ìVetevendosjeî will therefore ask for EULEX to leave the country.
Activists decided to display the poster of Yves de Kermabon as he personifies a person who undermines Kosovoís democracy, activists told reporters.
ìVetevendosjeî is the largest activist group in Kosovo and is well-known for its critical attitude to international presence in the country, accusing the internationals as acting as rulers.
