Nadia Vorobei, a 67-year-old resident of Andriivka, has endured significant hardships since the onset of the Russian invasion. Carried out of her house by Russian soldiers in March 2022, she witnessed its destruction shortly thereafter. Despite these challenges, Nadia's resilience is evident. Her family is deeply involved in Ukraine's defense, with her son in the military, her granddaughter serving as a medic, and other relatives also on the front lines.
Currently, Nadia is cared for by her neighbor, Sveta, as she recovers from a stroke that left her partially immobile. Her life has been a series of adjustments, relying on volunteers and neighbors for support. Despite limited resources and ongoing struggles, Nadia remains hopeful for Ukraine's victory and a better future.
The photos in this gallery depict Nadia's current situation in July 2024, two years after her initial encounter with the Russian forces.
